For alternating constipation and diarrhoea, particularly in cases where food passes through undigested.
Effective in cases of marasmus (severe malnutrition) in children, especially when there is significant weight loss, particularly in the legs. The skin may appear loose and hang in folds, especially around the neck.
The head in marasmus child is weak, making it hard for them to hold it up. Marasmus may affect only the lower body.
The patient often has a strong appetite but continues to lose weight even while eating well.
Helps with painful limb contractions due to cramps or after colic.
Useful in rheumatism, especially if pain is intense before any swelling appears or if pain results from suppressed diarrhoea or other discharges. Rheumatic symptoms may alternate with haemorrhoids or dysentery.
For gout, it alleviates stiffness and swelling in the joints, often with a pricking sensation. Pain and inflammation may appear in the wrists and ankles.
The patient may feel very sore and lame all over.
Helpful in itching chilblains (sores due to cold exposure).
Often used for extreme weakness, exhaustion, and a type of mild fever in children who are unable to stand.
In children, it may help with irritability, bad temper, and violent, cruel tendencies. Their face may look aged, pale, and wrinkled.
COMPLEMENTARY REMEDIES:
Useful after Hepar in cases of boils.
Helpful after Aconite and Bryonia in pleurisy when there is lingering pressure in the affected side that makes breathing difficult.
